Hartford, Conn. - Senior co-captain Chris Turnbull (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored 19 of his 21 points in the opening half to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 107-80 victory over the visiting SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinals in men's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 7-5, while the Cardinals fall to 6-4 with their third consecutive setback.  Trinity finished 46-for-68 from the field, setting a new team record at 67.6 percent, and made 11 of its 15 three-point shots.

Trinity jumped out to leads of 6-0 in the opening minutes, 14-5, less than five minutes into the game, and, 29-14, midway through the first half, as Turnbull had 14 points in the first 10 minutes. Plattsburgh State closed to 36-29 on a jumper by junior guard Eric Mack (Roosevelt, N.Y.) with 6:28 on the clock, but the Bantams scored the next six points and led by as many as 21 points in the half finished the half before heading to the locker room with their highest first-half, point total of the winter and an 18-point lead at 58-40.  Turnbull was 7-for-8 from the field and 5-for-6 from long range in the opening stanza, while fellow Bantam senior co-captain Ed Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 14 points. Mack had 10 points in the first half for the Cardinals.

Trinity extended its lead to 23 points at 68-45 on a layup by rookie forward Kyle Padmore (Milton, Mass.) 5:35 after intermission and led by at least 17 points the rest of the way.  The Bantams took their biggest lead at 100-70 on a basket inside by sophomore center Judah Woney (Harlem, N.Y.) with 2:46 on the clock, and scored in triple digits for the first time since a 104-73 win against Curry in 2007-08. The 107 points was the most for the Bantams since a 116-68 trumph at Elms in 2003-04.

Ogundeko and first-year guard Nick Seretta (Greenfield, Mass.) added 19 points apiece, while sophomore guard Paul Colson (Baldwin, N.Y.) had 13 points, and Woney dropped a career-high 10 points to give Trinity five double-digit scorers.  Ogundeko and Woney paced Trinity on the boards with six each, while senior guard Langdon Neal (Chicago, Ill.) dished 12 assists and both Turnbull and junior Eric Gendron (Merrimack, N.H.) added four assists. Seretta had four steals and Colson had three, as the Bantams forced 23 turnovers.  

Freshman guard Nick DeAngelis (West Milford, N.J.) led the Cardinals with 16 points off bench, sinking all four of his long-range attempts, while Mack finished with 15 points and a pair of blocked shots.  Plattsburgh State sophomore guard Brandon Johnson (Greenburgh, N.Y.) scored 12 points off the bench, while junior guard Eli Bryant (Staten Island, N.Y.) notched six points and seven assists, but no Cardinal had more than three rebounds.  Plattsburgh State shot 50 percent from three-point range (10-20).
