BABSON PARK, Mass.—Junior Bradley Jacks (Fort Washington, Md.) led four players in double figures with a season-high 23 points as top-ranked Babson College defeated the University of Chicago, 82-70, in non-conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Ratner Athletics Center.

With the win, Babson is now 10-1 on the year, while Chicago suffered its second consecutive loss to a ranked team to fall to 8-3 overall.

Jacks was 10-of-13 from the floor and added six rebounds, while senior Joey Flannery (Acton, Mass.) finished with 22 points, six rebounds and a game-high five assists for the Beavers. Junior Nick Comenale (New York Mills, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and four steals, and senior Isaiah Nelsen (North Andover, Mass.) finished with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

Senior Blaine Crawford (St. Paul, Minn.) finished with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to lead the Maroons. Classmate Waller Perez (Berwyn, Ill.) added 13 points and junior Collin Barthel (Indianapolis, Ind.) contributed eight points and 11 boards in the loss.

Jacks made his first four shots for the Green and White Flannery tied the game at 20-20 following 11 lead changes over the first 10 minutes of the opening half. Chicago followed with a 7-0 burst, but the Beavers responded with a 9-3 spurt of their own to pull within 30-29 on a transition hoop by Flannery with 5:42 to go in the stanza.

The Maroons used a trio of three-pointers to build their biggest lead of the game at 43-35 late in the period, but Babson countered with a 17-4 burst to take control of the game. Senior Sam Bohmiller (Franklin, Mass.) cut the deficit to three just before the half, and the Beavers scored on their first four possessions out of the locker room to pull even at 47-47 on a layup by Jacks at the 17:43 mark. Nelsen converted a steal by Comenale to take the lead and Jacks followed with a triple in transition to give the visitors a 52-47 edge with 16:15 to play.

Chicago twice pulled within two, but a three-point play by Flannery with 12:51 remaining sparked a 21-6 run that put the game away. Senior David Stauffer (York, Pa.) pushed the lead to eight with a layup and Jacks drained back-to-back jumpers to make 70-57 with 7:53 to go. Comenale followed with a thunderous two-hand slam and Bohmiller knocked down a three-pointer to give the Green and White its biggest lead of the contest at 75-58 with 6:51 to go.

The Beavers went 6-of-6 at the free throw line over the final 1:49 after the Maroons had pulled within nine to seal the victory.

Babson shot 52.6 percent (30-of-57) from the field and turned 11 Chicago turnovers into 12 points.

The Maroons shot 40.4 percent (23-of-57) for the game, but were just 8-of-28 (28.5 percent) overall in the second half and 2-of-13 (15.3 percent) from beyond the arc after halftime.

Babson returns to action on Wednesday when it opens conference play on the road against Emerson at 6 p.m., while Chicago hosts Washington University next Saturday at 3 p.m.

•    The Beavers are now 1-1 all-time against Chicago after dropping their first meeting to the Maroons back in 2007.
