Hartford, Conn. - Senior guard Langdon Neal (Chicago, Ill.) scored a career-high 20 points and added six assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 74-66 win over the visiting Springfield College Pride in men's basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium in the Ferris Athletic Center. Trinity improves to 4-3 with its third win in a row. Springfield falls to 3-4.

Trinity trailed, 41-38, with 14:52 left in the second half after layup by Springfield freshman Jake Ross (Northampton, Mass.), but scored eight points in a row and never looked back. Bantam senior co-captain center Ed Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) started the run with a bucket inside and first-year Kyle Padmore (Milton, Mass.) scored on a drive in transition to put Trinity ahead, 46-41, at the midpoint of the second stanza. The Bantams went ahead by double digits at 61-50 when Neal made a steal and converted on an old-fashioned three-point play on the other end with 2:40 on the clock. The home squad made 11 of 12 free throws in the final 1:10 after missing nine of of its first 14 attempts from the line.

Trinity led for the first nine minutes of the game, beginning with a three-pointer by senior co-captain Chris Turnbull (Ridgewood, N.J.) in the opening minute. Springfield took its first lead at 15-12 on a trey by junior guard Andy McNulty (West Springfield, Mass.) at the 11-minute mark, but the Bantams took the lead back at 18-17 on a long ball by rookie guard Nick Seretta (Greenfield, Mass.) with just under eight minutes left before the break. A layup by Turnbull with a minute on the clock gave the Bantams a 31-28 advantage at halftime.

Ogundeko finished with 18 points, a game-high 11 rebounds, and two blocks, while sophomore forward Connor Merinder (North Andover, Mass.) grabbed nine boards and blocked a pair of shots off the bench for Trinity. Ross paced the Pride with 20 points and added eight rebounds, while McNulty scored 19 points, and rookie forward Heath Post (Cheshire, Conn.) contributed seven points and nine rebounds. Trinity held Springfield to 34.8 percent field-goal shooting and finished with a 43-to-37 advantage on the boards.
