LOS ANGELES — Andrew Johnson scored 25 points, Jay Miller added 23 and Joe Compagno had 13 as the Occidental men's basketball team cruised past Cal Miramar 88-71 at Rush Gymnasium on Saturday.
Season Impact: The Tigers improve to 4-0 on the season.
Cal Miramar falls to 0-3.
Johnson was 10 for 14 from the field, with most of his shots from the low block, adding to his impressively efficient year so far. The senior from Loyola HS is shooting 66 percent from the field and averaging 20 points per game.
Miller had a big night from the outside, hitting on 4 of 6 three-point attempts.
Compagno was aggressive attacking and cutting to the basket, finishing with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Austin Dewitz chipped in nine points, seven rebounds and seven assists, to go along with excellent defense.
Next Game: Oxy is back in action against West Coast Baptist on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Tigers will then have a 12-day break in their schedule for final exams before playing their opening SCIAC game against Cal Lutheran on Dec. 18 at 2 p.m.
