No. 15 Hope Men's Basketball Downs Wisconsin-La Crosse

The Hope College men's basketball team scored seven of the final 10 points to earn an 80-75 win over Wisconsin-La Crosse on Saturday in front of a DeVos Fieldhouse crowd of 2,572.

The Flying Dutchmen raised their record to 5-1 overall by outscored their foe 7-3 over the final 1 minute, 18 seconds.

Hope overcame a 12-point deficit in the first half against La Crosse (5-2), which was coming off a 65-41 win at Albion on Friday.

Senior forward Harrison Blackledge of Canton, Ohio (Hoover HS) led five Flying Dutchmen in double figures with 16 points. He also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Fourteen of Blackledge's points came during the second half. He now has 946 points in his Hope career.

Junior guard Dante Hawkins of Holland, Michigan (Holland) and sophomore forward Teddy Ray of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Homestead) chipped in 15 points apiece.

Hawkins also totaled four of the Flying Dutchmen's 17 assists.

Ray went 8-of-8 from the foul line, including the game's final two points on free throws with 16 seconds remaining.

Senior forward Cody Stuive of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) collected 14 points and six rebounds.

Senior guard Chad Carlson of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford) had six assists and five points.

Off the bench, senior forward Keith Brushwyler chipped in 10 points.

Hope's next game is Saturday, Dec. 10 against Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Tipoff is 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.
