NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – A stingy defense that didn't allow a point for nearly the first four minutes and an offense that was on fire throughout the evening inside Stauffer-Wolfe Arena Wednesday, Nov. 30, spotlighted a Manchester University victory.

Coach Gerad Good's team raced out to a 31-9 lead with just over seven and a half minutes left in the first half and didn't look back. MU (1-3) extended the advantage on visiting Olivet College (2-4) to as much as 43 in the second 20 minutes before the clock turned to zeroes with a 99-67 final.

The Black and Gold was on fire from the field, hitting at better than a 60 percent clip overall and in mountain-top range from outside the arc, too, draining seven of 16 attempts for 43.8 percent. Sophomore guard Adrian Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) dropped in 20 points, his third double-digit effort in four games, to go with five assists; the freshman duo of guard Erik Bell (Evansville, Ind.) and forward/center Chris Hill (Fort Wayne, Ind.) came off the bench for 13 points each, as Bell did his damage from outside the arc hitting four of six attempts, while Hill was tough for the Comets to handle in the paint, going for his first collegiate double-double of 13 and 10 rebounds; while senior guard Tyler Alexander (Indianapolis, Ind.) and senior Chase Casteel (Monrovia, Ind.) added 11 points each, as Casteel had a banner night with five assists and six rebounds.

The Spartans move into Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday, Dec. 3. They travel to Hanover College with Manchester University's women's squad for a 3 and 5 p.m. doubleheader with the men's game being played first.
