Bristol, R.I.--Sophomore forward Benjamin Vezele (Providence, RI) was named to the All-Tournament Team as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team fell to host Roger Williams, 91-62, in the Championship game of the 2016 RWU/Courtyard By Marriott Tip-Off Tournament at the Campus Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore forward Justin Campbell (New Haven, CT) paced RIC (2-1) with 13 points and six rebounds while Vezele  added 12 points and seven boards in the setback.

Sophomore guard Austin Coene (Tyngsborough, MA) led the way for Roger Williams (3-0) with 28 points and nine rebounds, while senior guard Andrew Waslik (Gainesville, FL) notched 24 points and junior forward Jaylen Jennings (Norwalk, CT) contributed 15 points in the win for the Hawks.

Roger Williams took control of the action early and held the 20-11 lead after a pair of free-throws by junior forward Jennings with 12:12 left in the first half. The Hawks took their largest lead of the stanza, 41-20, on a layup by Coene with 5:27 left on the clock.

RIC trimmed the lead to just 13 points when a layup by sophomore guard Jimmy Fritzson (Sharon, MA) made the score 44-31 with 3:05 left in the first half. That would be as close as the Anchorwomen would get, however, as RWU took the 51-31 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. Roger Williams shot 56.3 percent (18-for-32) from the field in the first half and forced RIC into 10 turnovers.

RWU continued to build on its lead throughout the second half, taking its largest advantage of the contest with just over three minutes left when a pair of free throws by senior forward Josh Syska (Peabody, MA) made the score 90-60. Roger Williams then cruised to the 91-62 victory.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Bridgewater State on Tuesday, Nov. 22 (7:30 p.m.).
