ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Davon Hill has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete in recognition of his performance on the court and inside the classroom.

The MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete award is the conference's most prestigious academic award. It recognizes one senior from each of the seven winter sports (men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's swimming and wrestling) for their outstanding academic and athletic prowess.

Hill was named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team and is a four-year letter winner for the Blazers. Hill ranks among Hood's all-time leaders in points, assists, 3-point field goals made, free throws made and free throw percentage.

Hill will be graduating in May with his degree in computer science. He holds a 3.89 GPA. Hill has been named to the Hood College Dean's List in every semester, and is a three-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient. He has also been named to the Hood College President's List (4.0 semester) twice. He earned the Grace N. Brown Prize in Mathematics at Hood College. He is also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honoree.

To be eligible for the scholar-athlete award a student-athlete must be a senior who achieved a 3.20 GPA or better and compete in a winter sport.  The MAC honors one scholar-athlete for every sport sponsored by the conference. Nominations are submitted to the conference office by individual schools' sports information directors, then the MAC Awards Committee votes on the nominations and base their selections on academic record (50 percent) and athletic prowess (50 percent).
