How It Happened

  • Rosemont was fighting an uphill battle most of the afternoon, unable to gain traction to pull away from Centenary. The Cyclones opened up the game with an 8-2 lead with less than three minutes played, but the Ravens fought back over the next 3:22 to take their first lead of the game, 11-10 on a jumper by Jamier Hughes with 13:48 on the clock. A trey from Mekhi Clemons would put the Ravens on top by three, 17-14 with 12:13 on the clock, but the Cyclones would outscore Rosemont 9-2 to give the visitors a 25-19 lead with 7:32 remaining in the half.
  • Centenary would extend their lead to eight, 29-21 with 5:48 on the scoreboard, but the Ravens again fought back with a 7-0 run, punctuated by a layup from Kyle Lafferty to get back to within a point with 3:41 remaining. Centenary would end the period by extending their lead to four points at the break, 35-31.
  • The two teams would remain embroiled in a close contest, but Centenary started to get some separation from the home side, extending their lead to nine points, 44-35 with 17:02 remaining. With the Ravens still trailing by nine with 13:55 on the clock, the home side outscored the Cyclones 6-0 to claw back to within three points of the lead with 12:58 left. Centenary would again advance their lead to nine points, 63-54 with 8:10 remaining, but the Ravens would not go away.
  • Rosemont would outscore the Cyclones 13-6 to draw within two points of the lead, 67-65 with 5:18 left. Trailing 72-70 with 2:52 on the clock, the Ravens would stay close, but would not get any closer to Centenary down the stretch as the Cyclones outscored the Ravens 12-6 down the stretch.


Ravens' Top Performers

  • Marcus Thomas was the featured offensive player for Rosemont, leading the Ravens with 22 points on his Senior Day effort.
  • Khai Roberts and Kyle Lafferty each hit for 11 points in the ballgame.
  • Clayton Wolfe and Itay Levy rounded out the Ravens scoring in double-digits, each putting 10 points on the board.


For the Cyclones

  • Myles McLeod had 22 points before getting into foul trouble, but still led Centenary in scoring with 24 points.
  • Hanif Holloway had 12 points for the Cyclones.
  • Zachary Duymich (11) and Anthohny Bailey (10) both scored in double-digits for the visitors.


Stats of the Game

  • Centenary shot 55.6% from the field compared to the Ravens' 37.3%
  • The Ravens had 4 steals and -4 turnovers compared to Centenary.
  • Centenary scored five more field goals than the Ravens (30 vs. 25) but the Ravens had the advantage from downtown (8 vs. 4).
  • Centenary made more free throws (by two), but had many more opportunities (eight).
