Nazareth Runs Past Elmira, 77-46

ROCHESTER, NY –  Nazareth used a balance scoring attack with five scorers finishing in double figures, as the Golden Flyers cruised to a 77-46 victory over Elmira College on Saturday afternoon.  The Golden Flyers shot 62.8 percent (27-of-43) in the game compared to Elmira's 29.5 percent (18-of-61).

Mitch Ford and Maurice Mills each tallied double-doubles for Nazareth. Ford notched his 17th of the season with 11 points (3-for-4), while grabbing 12 boards.  Mills poured in 10 points (3-of-6) of his own while also pulling down 12 rebounds.  He also had six blocks.

Tyler Stenglein had a team-high 14 points on 5-for-9 from the field, while dishing out three assists.  Brendan Wind and Josh Gillard were each an efficient 5-for-7 from the field for 13 points and 12 points, respectively.

Mitch Keniston and Chris Jones each poured in five points apiece to aid the balanced attack.

Nazareth led wire-to-wire, including scoring 12 of the first 14 points of the contest.

The Golden Flyers hit two 3-pointers in the half, including Wind knocking down a runner as time expired to push Nazareth's lead to 37-23.  

A highlight for Nazareth in the second half was a one handed slam from Gillard to make it 41-25 in the early moments.

The Golden Flyers led by as many as 33 points in the half.

With the win, Nazareth improves to 15-8 overall and 11-3 in Empire 8 play, while Elmira falls to 4-20 and 2-13, respectively. 

The Golden Flyers will be back in action against Stevens next Friday at 6 p.m.
