WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Omari Ringgold scored 21 points and Albright extended its season-best winning streak to four straight games with a 65-59 MAC Commonwealth victory over Lycoming on Wednesday in Lamade Gymnasium.

The four-game winning streak has vaulted the Lions right into the middle of the chase for the five berths in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament. With the win, Albright improved to 10-13 overall and 7-7 in the MAC Commonwealth and are currently tied for fourth place in the standings.

The Lions took control of the game late in the second half and used an unlikely source to take the lead for good.

Albright trailed 50-48 before sophomore Evan Dunn connected on his first three-pointer of the season giving the Lions a 51-50 lead with 6:40 to play in the game.

Ringgold followed with a three-pointer and Evan Ward added a free throw to extend the Albright lead to 55-50 with 4:19 left in the half.

Nykolas King of Lycoming and DeJuan Smith of Albright traded free throws before the Warriors climbed to within 56-53 on a layup by Chris Wallace with 2:19 to play.

Albright responded with back-to-back layups by Smith and Ringgold to extend the margin to 62-55 with 36 seconds left in the period.

A layup by David Johnson trimmed the lead to 62-57, but Ringgold made 3-of-4 free throws in the final 26 seconds to secure the victory for the Lions.

Albright also received 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot from Smith, while Brandon Lindsay added 11 points off the bench.

Lycoming, which dropped to 15-8 overall and 7-7 in league play, was led by Willie Kee who scored 18 points. Johnson added 16 points and six rebounds for the Warriors.

The Lions made 8-of-17 three-point attempts, which included Lindsay making 3-of-4, while Lycoming was 3-of-9 from the three-point line.

After posting a 1-12 record in the first 13 games in which it trailed at halftime, Albright has wiped out a halftime deficit in each of the last two games.

Kee scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half as the Warriors held a 34-28 lead at the intermission.

Albright returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 13) when it hosts Stevenson in its final regular season home game of the year in the Bollman Center beginning at 2 p.m. The game will mark the final regular season home appearance for Ward, Vince Lombardi, Casey Ayers and Johnathan Amoroso.
