Boston, Mass. - Junior center Ed Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y.) totaled 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 90-51 victory over the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals in the opening round of the Harbor Invitational Men's Basketball Tournament at the University of Massachusetts-Boston this evening.  Trinity, ranked No. 12 in the nation, improves to 2-1 with its second win in a row and will play the host Beacons tomorrow in the tournament finals at 3 p.m.  Mass.-Boston downed Vermont Tech, 74-70, in the other first round game, and Maine-Fort Kent, now 4-6, will play Vermont Tech in the consolation game tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Trinity used a 10-2 run early to take a 12-4 lead 3:33 into the game on a layup by senior captain forward Shay Ajayi (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and soon increased its lead to double digits where it remained for the majority contest.  The Bengals closed to 32-26 with 2:41 left before halftime on a pair of free throws by Roosevelt Smith, but a three-pointer by Bantam senior captain guard Rick Naylor (Sudbury, Vt.) pushed Trinity ahead, 39-27, with 13 secondfs left before the break.

Trinity opened the second half with an inside bucket by Ogundeko and a pair of jumpers by senior captain Jaquann Starks (Hartford, Conn.) to lead 45-28 with 18:02 on the clock and the game was never in doubt the rest of the way.  Starks led all scorers with 17 points, surpassing the 1,000-point plateau for his career, while Ajayi pitched in 10 points and six boards, sophomore Eric Gendron (Merrimack, N.H.) added 10 points off the bench, and senior captain guard Andrew Hurd(Windsor, Conn.) dished out nine assists.
