Hawks Roll at Elmira 83-65

             PINE VALLEY, NY – Hartwick got the first bucket 10 seconds in and never looked back in an 83-65 Empire 8 victory over Elmira at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley Saturday. The Hawks improve to 15-6 overall and 10-2 in the E8. With St. John Fisher's overtime win over Nazareth, the Hawks, Cardinals, and Golden Flyers all have two losses in the E8 standings.
             Hartwick shot 50% (27-for-54) from the floor and hit 11 three-pointers in the contest. The Hawks also out-rebounded EC 41-31 in the game.
             Trevor Norton (Mullica Hill, NJ/Ursinus College) scored a game-high 20 points, which included four three-pointers on the day. Matt Wilson (Shelton, CT/Franklin & Marshall College) added a double-double of 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
            Jake Sinicki (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell) also had 17 points and Brandon LaForest (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) contributed 11 points and a game-high seven assists.
            After two free throws from Norton 3:19 into the contest, the Hawks never led by less than eight points the rest of the game. 'Wick led by as many as 16 in the opening half. The Hawks got it to 20 points, 75-55, with five minutes to go in the game before settling on the 18-point victory.
            Justin Pratt (North Kingstown, RI/North Kingstown) added nine points and eight rebounds for the Hawks. Joey Lufkin (Argyle, NY/Argyle) scored six and added five assists.
            Gino Leonardi and Justin Porrett each scored 17 points for the Soaring Eagles.
            Hartwick hosts Nazareth I an E8 showdown on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
