BUFFALO, N.Y.— Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) converted on a 3-point play to put Buffalo State ahead, 92-91, with 24 seconds left, but with less than five seconds on the clock, Plattsburgh knocked down a three to seal the 94-92 conference win on Friday night in Sports Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State opened up the game with a 6-0 run in the first 1:39.
- A layup from Michael Henry (Syracuse/W. Genesee) at 15:43 pushed the Bengals lead out to nine points, 16-7.
- The Cardinals were able to pull within one point at 7:16 and then managed to go ahead by a point, 34-33, after knocking down a three at 5:33.
- The Bengals quickly regained the lead and back-to-back three's from Dominic Grayer (Brooklyn/ Bishop Loughlin) put Buffalo State back up, 41-34.
- Plattsburgh knocked down a jumper in the last two seconds of the half to pull within five points, 47-42, heading into halftime.
- A fastbreak layup from Nico McLean at the 15-minute mark of the second half pushed the Bengals lead out to 10, 62-52.
- The Cardinals once again fought back and the final 12 minutes of play saw multiple lead changes.
- With 2:15 left on the clock, a Plattsburgh layup put the Cardinals up 89-83, but a 9-2 by the Bengals gave them a 92-91 lead with 24 seconds remaining in the game.
- As the clock ran down, Plattsburgh looked as though it was going to run out of time, but Eli Bryant knocked down a tough 3-point shot to seal the win for the Cardinals.
- Buffalo State finished the game shooting 40.2 percent from the floor, 25 percent from the 3-point line and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe.
- Henry led the Bengals offense with a double-double, scoring 22 points and pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds. McLean added 20 points and four steals, while Dominic Grayer tallied 14 points, Jordan Chateau chipped in 13 points and Smith finished with 11 points.
FOR THE FOES
- Plattsburgh finished the game shooting 52.9 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from the 3-point line and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe.
- Kyle Richardson led the Cardinals on offense with a double-double, scoring 24 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Bryant added 22 points, while Jonathan Patron finished with 14 points and Edward Correa chipped in 10 points.
