DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College pulled away late in the first half and put the game away early in the second half as the Green Knights posted a 73-56 win over Monmouth College in a Midwest Conference game at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (14-2, 11-0 MWC), ranked No. 22 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, won for the 55th consecutive time against a Midwest Conference opponent.

St. Norbert and Monmouth (9-6, 6-5) were deadlocked 13-13 with 7:20 left in the first half before the Green Knights went on an 8-0 run to get some breathing room. Taylor Penn stroked a 3-pointer to get the run started, followed by a conventional three-point play by Mitchell Reinthaler. Terrence Garner's jumper with 5:52 left in the half put the Green Knights ahead 21-13.

The Green Knights, who led 33-22 at halftime, opened the second half on an 18-3 run to build a 26-point lead. St. Norbert scored on its first seven possessions of the second half to start the half on a 15-1 tear. Ben Bobinski canned a 3-pointer from the wing on the second possession, while D.J. DeValk, Tim Marshall and Garner all had a pair of layups during the outburst. St. Norbert led 51-25 with 15:09 left.

Monmouth went on an 8-0 run to get back to within 51-33 with 11:51 to go, but St. Norbert had a quick 9-0 run fueled by a 3-pointer and tip-in by DeValk for a 60-33 lead with 9:32 left.

St. Norbert shot 51.0 percent from the floor, making 25 of 49 field-goal attempts. DeValk led the Green Knights with 14 points, while Garner added 13 points. Bobinski and Reinthaler also had 10 points apiece.

Riley Blea led Monmouth with 10 points off the bench. The Scots finished 16-for-47 (34.0 percent) from the floor and committed 20 turnovers.
