HIRAM, Ohio -- The Hiram College men's basketball team saw four players score in double figures en route to a dominant 92-74 win over Kenyon on Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers snap their three game losing streak and are now 12-5 on the season and 6-4 in NCAC play. The Lords fall to 7-10, 4-6.

Hiram's 12 wins surpasses its 11 victories from last season.

Sophomore Jeremiah Thomas (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) scored a season-high 16 points off the bench, going 6-of-6 from the field. 

Sophomore Paul Ortiz (Canton, Ohio/McKinley Senior) also had 16 points, while adding four steals. Senior J.J. Woodson (Oakwood Village, Ohio/Bedford) had 15 points and sophomoreKelvin Jones (Sheffield Lake, Ohio/Brookside) chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Overall, the Terriers shot 50.7 percent (38-of-75) from the field and outscored the Lords 56-36 in the paint.

Hiram jumped out of the gates strong building a 13-2 lead just three and a half minutes into the contest. The Terriers would push their lead to 27-7 with 12:51 left in the first half.

The Terriers continued to pull away and a jumper from sophomore Trey Sanders (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Beachwod) capped off a 10-1 run and gave Hiram its largest lead of the game at 50-17.

The Terriers took a 52-25 lead into the break.

In the second half, Kenyon would slowly chip away at the Hiram advantage and cut the lead to 83-70 with 3:24 left to play.

The Terriers answered with six straight points, as their defense forced two key steals, to push their lead back to 19 points and put the game away.

The Lords finished 26-of-59 (44.1 percent) from the field and knocked down 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) of 3-point attempts.

Hiram posted a 42-38 edge in rebounds in the victory.

Tim Connolly paced the Lords with 19 points and Matt Shifrin added 17.

The Terriers will close out their three-game homestand on Wednesday, as they host Allegheny (Pa.) at 7 p.m.
