Big First Half Run Lifts TCNJ Past Baruch

The Baruch College Bearcats lost 85-62 to the Lions from the College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in a non-conference contest on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 18, in Trenton, New Jersey.

The Lions broke open the contest with a 23-2 run in the first half to take a 47-29 lead into the halftime intermission. They started the second half by scoring the first nine points en route to the win as they finished shooting 51 percent (30-for-59), including 10-of-23 from three, to raise their season record to 10-6.

The visiting Bearcats shot 34 percent (21-for-61) to drop to 9-8 overall.
Chimaechi Ekekeugborled the way with 18 points and eight rebounds. William Sixsmithand Raymond De La Cruzeach scored 10 points.

Eric Murdoch, Jr. and Elias Bermudez scored 16 points each for the Lions.

The Bearcats will resume conference action on Friday, January 22, at 7:30 p.m. at home in the ARC Arena against rival Hunter College Hawks.
