Senior guard Cortez Tillman scored 21 points and senior center Ryan Saarela recorded his fifth double double of the season as No. 6-ranked St. Thomas zoomed to a 91-61 road win at St. Mary's in Saturday's MIAC men's basketball action.
The Tommies (13-1 overall, 8-1 MIAC) have won all six games in a 15-day span to open January. They have won nine in a row, and 12 of their 13 season victories have come by double-digit margins. They shot 65 percent from the floor and sank 10 3-point baskets, with just 10 turnovers.
St. Thomas pushed its lead on idle St. Olaf to one game in the conference race. Those teams play Wednesday night at St. Thomas.
Saarela finished with 19 points and 10 boards, while Jimmy Remke added 14 points and Taylor Montero scored 13.
