Lake Forest freshman forward Danny Sotos scored a game-high 19 points but the Forester men's basketball team was edged out 64-61 at St. Norbert College Tuesday night.

Sotos shot 8-for-16 from the field and added eight rebounds to his stat line. He was one of three Foresters to score in double figures and was followed by junior forward Jim Schick, who finished with 14 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for his sixth double-double in seven games this season. Sophomore forward Orlando Brown was next on the team with 11 points.

The Foresters shot 48 percent from the floor while the Green Knights connected on 45 percent of their field goal attempts. Both teams shot 15 times from three-point range with the visitors knocking down five and St. Norbert four. Lake Forest out-rebounded the home team 32-31 but committed 12 of the game's 20 turnovers and was outscored 20-8 at the free throw line.

Lake Forest led by as many as four points and St. Norbert by three in an opening period that included seven lead changes. The Knights took a slim 31-30 lead into the locker room at halftime.

After a Brown layup early in the second half tied the game at 31, St. Norbert scored six straight points and eventually pulled ahead by eight at 44-36 with 12:54 to play. A basket by Schick with 8:08 remaining capped off a 14-4 run by the Foresters that put them ahead 50-48. The Knights rebounded with nine points in a row over the next two-and-a-half minutes but a 14-3 run by Lake Forest put the visitors back on top 61-60 with 1:47 left. The Foresters did not score again, however, and St. Norbert regained the lead on a layup with 1:32 to play and added a pair of free throws with 2.4 seconds on the clock to secure the victory.

The loss left the Foresters with a 3-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in Midwest Conference play. St. Norbert improved to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the league and extended its winning streak against conference opponents to 48 games.

Lake Forest's next game will be a non-conference match-up at Coe College on Saturday, December 19. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
