The No. 20 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team finished with a 3-0 mark for the week and extended its win streak to six games Wednesday afternoon in an 81-58 victory at Colorado College on the final day of the Pikes Peak Holiday Classic.

Senior guard Trinson White and junior guard Drew Bryson led the Warhawks (9-2 overall), who matched their non-conference win total from a season ago.

Bryson tallied a career-high 21 points, including 18 in the first half, to go along with two steals.

White registered 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds, good for his third double-double of the season and tied for the third most by an individual in one game in program history. Junior forward Tyler Edmondson also recorded 19 rebounds, posting the total against Davenport (Mich.) back on Nov. 20.

Following the conclusion of play, White was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. He averaged 14.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in the three games during the week.

Junior guard Haki Stampley added 11 points for the Warhawks, who shot 50.8 percent from the floor and hit 13-of-15 (86.7 percent) at the free-throw line.

UW-Whitewater led for more than 37 minutes of the contest and outscored Colorado College (4-6) by a 40-25 margin in the second half. The Warhawks outrebounded the Tigers 37-22, including a 10-3 edge on the offensive glass.

UW-Whitewater jumped out to a 17-8 advantage at the 13:21 mark of the first half. After an 8-0 run pulled Colorado College within one, the Warhawks pushed their lead back to eight and led by as many as 11 in the period. Bryson scored the team's last five points of the half to make it 41-33 heading into the locker room.

The Tigers trimmed UW-Whitewater's lead to five points four minutes into the second half, but White and junior forward Cole Van Schyndel led a 10-0 Warhawk run to make it 58-43 with 12:18 remaining.

UW-Whitewater never trailed by less than 10 points the rest of the way. The final margin accounted for the Warhawks' largest lead of the contest.

The Warhawks, who have won their last five games by an average margin of more than 16 points per game, open Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play next Wednesday, Jan. 6, at UW-Stout. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Menomonie, Wis.
