Roos Boast One of Best Defenses in NCAA D-III, One of 24 Remaining Unbeatens

Indianapolis, IN – The SUNY Canton men's basketball team has the best scoring defense and best field-goal percentage defense out of 413 teams in NCAA Division III as the NCAA released its weekly statistical rankings on Monday afternoon for games play through Sunday, December 6, 2015.

The Roos sit at 7-0 overall on the season and are one of just 24 teams nationally to remain unbeaten. SUNY Canton has played stifling defense thus far holding opponents to just 56.0 points per game, while opponents have shot just 32.0 percent from the field, both the best marks of any team in the country.

 

SUNY Canton also ranks highly in a number of other team categories including total blocks (3rd – 47), blocked shots per game (4th – 6.7), defensive rebounds per game (5th – 33.7), three-point field goal defense (6th – 24.0 %), scoring margin (14th – 16.6), steals per game (18th – 10.7) and total steals (19th – 75).
