KEENE, N.H.--Dizel Wright had a career high 27 points, and Matt Ozzella came close to a triple-double as the Keene State College men's basketball team opened Little East Conference play with a 103-84 win over UMass Dartmouth on Saturday at Spaulding Gym.

The Owls are 6-0, and have won their conference opener for the sixth consecutive season.  The Corsairs are 5-3, and 0-2 in the LEC.

Wright lit up the court on 12-for-15 shooting, mostly on layups and a breakaway dunk.  Ozzella had 12 points, a career high 18 rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Jeff Lunn also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, and Nate Stitchell had 21 points.
Keene State contained UMass Dartmouth's Jordan Rezendes, who came into the game sixth in the nation in points per game;  Rezendes scored 31 points, but shot 8-for-21 from the field, and just 4-for-12 from three point range.

Jahleel Moise had 12 points and Abi Akanni 11 for the Corsairs.

A nip-and-tuck start had the game tied at 13 as Nick Portelance and Dizel Wright traded layups, but Keene State embarked on a 17-9 run fueled by six points from Lunn and a three pointer from Stitchell.

Five straight points from Tanner Bouchard pulled the Corsairs within 34-30, only to see the Owls take a 49-39 lead on a basket from Andrew Houde with 39 seconds left in the first half.
Up 49-41 at the break, Keene State broke the game open with an 11-0 burst to start the second half as Stitchell nailed a three just 22 seconds into the frame and Wright's slam off a fast break pass from Ozzella.

UMass Dartmouth was within 10 at 66-56 on a three from Atakan Akcam, but would get no closer, as Lucas Hammel hit a three of his own on Keene State's next possession, and the Owls led by as many as 21 on Ozzella's free throw with 1:16 remaining.

The Owls will end the semester with a road game at UMass Boston on December 12 at 3 p.m.  UMass Dartmouth is off until December 19, when they will play Eastern University (Pa.) in Miami, Florida.
