Another Balanced Attack Leads Baruch to Win Over Rival Hunter (89-67)

The Baruch College Bearcats received another balanced scoring attack and finished with 14 threes to defeat their rival Hawks of Hunter College, 89-67, in a CUNYAC contest on Friday night in upper Manhattan.

The visiting Bearcats started with back-to-back threes and finished shooting a torrid 56 percent (18-for-32) in the first 20 minutes to cruise to a 49-40 halftime lead.

They started the second half with a 16-6 run to lead 65-46, and that was enough to carry them the rest of the way for the 22 point victory on Hunter's Homecoming Night.

Overall, they finished shooting 54 percent (34-for-63) from the field and 14-for-30 from three-point range.


Chimaechi Ekekeugborled in the scoring column with 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks.

Raymond De La Cruzscored 18 points (7-11 fg) and Ethan Hamletthad another career-high with 17 points, which included 5-for-8 from three.

William Sixsmithtied a career-high with 12 points and was pivotal from three shooting 4-for-6. Doyin Isaacwas busy again with his first career double-double of 11 points and a career-high 10 assists.

The Hawks kept up with the Bearcats by shooting 50 percent (15-for-30) in the first half, but could not keep up with the Bearcats' defense in the second half as they struggled shooting 29 percent (9-for-34) and 2-of-11 from three.

Brian Kruger led the Hawks this evening with 12 points.

The Bearcats will next be home on Tuesday, December 8, with a 7:30 pm CUNYAC contest against the College of Staten Island.
