Bridgewater, Mass.-Junior forward Terrance Tribble (White Plains, NY) notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest at Bridgewater State, 67-61,  on Tuesday night.

The Anchormen (1-3) opened an eight point lead when Tribble threw down a dunk off a feed from sophomore guard Chris Green (Taunton, MA) with 14:42 left in the first half. The teams would trade baskets during the middle of the frame, with the Bears (2-4) shrinking the RIC lead down to six points, 32-26, on a layup by junior guard Fawaz Mass (Taunton, MA) with one second remaining in the half.

RIC shot 44.1 percent (15-for-34) from the field in the first half, while holding Bridgewater State to 34.5 percent (10-for-29) shooting.

The Bears came out strong in the second half, rattling off a 17-5 run over the first 8:42 of the stanza to open up a 43-37 advantage. The Anchormen were able to trim their deficit down to one point on two occasions down the stretch, but clutch free throw shooting by the Bears saw them clinch the victory.

Triblle shot 7-for-13 from the field. Green added 15 points of his own, while also grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. Freshman guard Brandon Williams Jr. (Dorchester, MA) handed out a game-high seven assists to go along with seven rebounds and two points.

BSU was paced by Mass' 19 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore forward Joseph Carty (Natick, MA) recorded a double-double for the Bears, scoring 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out three assists and swatting three shots away in the victory.

RIC shot 38.6 percent (27-for-70) from the field and 75.0 percent (3-for-4) from the charity stripe, while being held to just 14.8 percent (4-for-27) from the three-point line. BSU shot 41.5 percent (22-for-53) from the floor, 87.5 percent (21-for-24) from the free throw line and just 16.7 percent (2-for-12) from downtown.

 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Tufts on Saturday, Nov. 28 (1 p.m.).
