Brooklyn's Egzon Gjonbalaj Named ECAC Division III Metro Second Team All-Star

Danbury, CT --- Junior guard/forward Egzon Gjonbalaj has been named to the 2014-15 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Men's Basketball All-Star Second Team, as voted on by the head coaches within the ECAC Division III Metro Region.

Gjonbalaj, a 2015 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) First Team All-Star, a 2015 D3Hoops.com Men's Basketball All-Atlantic Region Second Team member and a 2015 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-District (Atlantic) Second Team member, had a career year in 2014-2015, averaging 18.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.9 blocks per game, all team-highs.

Within the CUNYAC, Gjonbalaj ranked second in blocks, fourth in scoring, fifth in both rebounding and steals and sixth in assists. He started in all 30 games this season averaging 32.8 minutes-per-contest, also a team-high.

Gjonbalaj played a key role in helping to lead the Bulldogs to a 23-7 overall record this past season, including a runner-up finish in the CUNYAC Championships and a #1 seed in the ECAC Division III Metro Championships. The 23 wins on the year tied for second most in school history and marked the seventh 20-win season in program history as well. BC was also ranked as high as fourth in the NCAA Atlantic Region rankings this season.

Gjonbalaj joined the 1,000 point club this season at BC, becoming the 19th player in school history to accomplish the milestone. He finished his junior campaign with 1,191 career points, good for 11th all-time in program history.
