BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team had its 2014-15 season come to an end on Wednesday, as the #4 Lightning dropped their ECAC Metro Quarterfinal game to #5 CSI , 76-65, in the APEX Main Gym. The Dolphins have advanced to the ECAC Semifinals, where they will take on #1 Brooklyn College, in the West Quad Center, on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs defeated #8 Centenary College, 68-63, to clinch a berth in the ECAC Semifinals.

The Lightning (18-10) were led by junior forward Jerrome Jones (Bronx, N.Y./Mount Vernon), who had a team-high 19 points, with nine rebounds and two blocks. Junior guard Olando Minott (Bronx, N.Y./Samuel Gompers) added 11 points with seven rebounds, while freshman guard John Brens (Washington Heights, N.Y./All Hallows) produced nine points and dished out eight assists. Brens and Minott each forced two steals.

Lehman did not take the lead once during the game. The turning point came early in the first half, as the Dolphins went on a 13-1 run, in a span of 6:16, to take a commanding 27-12 lead, with 10:25 remaining in the opening half. During CSI's (18-9) surge, Lehman went 6:36 without scoring a field goal. The Dolphins were able to increase their lead to 41-23 in the closing seconds, as the Lightning went into the locker room facing an 18-point deficit.

In the second half, Lehman rallied to make the game closer as Brens found Jones, who laid the ball up and in, to pull Lehman within 12. After Lehman prevented the Dolphins from scoring on the next possession, Brens was fouled and sent to the free throw line. He capitalized on one of two shots from the line to narrow CSI's lead to 63-52, with 6:18 remaining in regulation. However, the Dolphins would not allow the Lightning to pull within single digits down the stretch.

With 1:36 left to play, senior guard Jonathan Greenfield (Hartford, Conn./Windsor) connected on a pair of free throws to pull Lehman within 10, at 71-61, but that was as close as the home team would get. The Dolphins ended up winning the game, 76-65.

Playing his final game in his collegiate career, Greenfield scored 10 points, while grabbing five rebounds.
