Pitt-Bradford head coach Britt Moore gets career win number 50 with win over Lions, 64-58

BRADFORD, Pa. –  Panthers head coach, Britt Moore, collected career win number 50 as the Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team got back on track with a win over Penn State Altoona, 64-58.

Pitt-Bradford (11-10, 8-6) was led by senior Keith Burgess (Hillside, NJ/Hillside) who tallied a game-high 16 points for the Panthers. Junior Eric Matheson (Ridgway/Ridgway) came away with 15 points and five assists for the Panthers.

Penn State Altoona (5-17, 2-13) was led by Rogelio Christian Olan who collected 13 points in the loss for the Lions.

Pitt-Bradford came out of the gate on fire offensively. The Panthers started off the game with a 14-0 run and kept the Lions scoreless for the first five minutes of the contest.

The Panthers continued the pace in the first half getting their lead up to 12 points after a layup by Burgess, which forced Penn State Altoona to take a timeout with 5:27 remaining in the half.

However, the Lions came out of their timeout fired up as they closed out the half on a 12-2 run cutting the Panther lead down to 32-30 at the half.

After almost losing the lead at the end of the first half, the Panthers took care of business in the second half. The Panthers were able to control the tempo of the game and not allow Penn State Altoona to create any runs on offense.

 The Panthers took their largest lead of the game at 58-41 with 5:58 remaining as Matheson closed the door on the Lions by converting a layup and drawing the foul making it a three-point play.

The Panthers would cruise to an easy victory giving head coach Britt Moore his 50th career with.

Pitt-Bradford will host D'Youville at 6 p.m. Wednesday at KOA Arena. Wednesday will also be PItt-Bradford's Pink Game.
