The Bearcat men's basketball team got back on the winning track with a 63-39 victory over Westminster College in the Carey Center.

Sean Kett led the way with 13 points as Saint Vincent improved to 10-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference and 15-6 overall.

Both teams struggled from the floor throughout the night, with SVC connecting on 36% of its shots for the evening, while the Titans shot just 22%.

Bobby Swartwout opened the scoring one minute into play, but Westminster responded with a shot from outside the arc to take a 3-2 advantage.  It would prove to be their only lead of the day.

Kett then scored six straight points for the Bearcats, on a baseline jumper and a pair of putbacks.  Later, Pat Jones scored on a drive to the hoop, followed by a three from Dan Sinwell that made the score 13-5 at the 13:25 mark.

Westminster managed to cut the gap to just three, 15-12, just past the midway point of the half, but the Bearcats then caught fire, scoring 16 straight point.  A tip-in by John LeGrande started the rally, quickly followed by a three from Geoff FuQuay.  Swartwout, who had four points during the run, closed the rally with a putback near the four-minute mark.

Austin Dedert closed the first half scoring with a bucket with 42 ticks remaining, sending SVC into the locker room up 37-18.

The Titans came out of the break with seven quick points, making it a 12-point game (37-25).  Only four free throws from Kett went to the Bearcat side of the ledger during the first five minutes of the second half.  It wasn't until the 14:05 mark that SVC got its first field goal, a layup by Kett off an assist from Austin Ford

Saint Vincent then regained its shooting touch, with back-to-back threes from Ben Klimchock and Jones, extending the lead to 49-28.

After the Titans managed to slightly cut into the margin, Swartwout once again made it a 20-point game, 55-35, with 8:19 remaining.  Later, a three from Joe Carrick made it a 60-39 game, and a fast-break score from Kyle Rivera tallied the final points of the night, making it 63-39.

Kett recorded a double-double, with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Klimchock added 10 points, while Jones scored 8.  Swartwout also had 8 points to go along with 7 rebounds.  Austin Dedert grabbed 6 boards, while LeGrande had 5.
