WATERVILLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy Men's Basketball fell to non-conference opponent Colby College 86-64, on Tuesday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
The Mariners stayed within striking distance in the opening half and only trailed 31-26 after a three-pointer from Zachary Radcliffe (Rumford, Maine) with 3:15 remaining. The Mules responded with a 10-2 run to end the half and took a 41-28 margin into the break.
Colby scored the first seven points of the second half to stretch their lead to 20 points but never looked back, despite an 11-4 run by the Mariners to close out the game.
Nick Holt (Ellsworth, Maine) went 5-for-9 from three-point range, and led all scorers with 19 points. Dylan Price (Madison, Maine) was 5-for-7 from the field and went a perfect 4-4 at the line for 14 points and three assists. Tyler Gilson (Thomaston, Maine) added 10 points for the Mariners.
Sam Willson led the Mules with 17 points, and a game-high eight rebounds, while Chris Hudnut added 13 points.
Colby College improves to 11-6 overall while the Mariners fall to 1-14 on the year.
Maine Maritime returns to action this Friday night when they host NAC challenger Lyndon State at 7:30 p.m. inside of Smith Gymnasium.
