BOSTON, Mass. – Senior captain Matt Langadas (Sebago, Maine) dropped in a game-high 25 points in Nichols College's 61-47 win at Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's basketball action.

Langadas banged six three's and also recorded six rebounds and four assists to help the Bison remain perfect in conference play at 8-0 (11-4 overall). Junior Gustave Koumare (Harlem, N.Y.) filled the stat sheet with 11 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists while classmate Christian Horton (Rutland, Mass.) played all 40 minutes and registered points, seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals.

The Bison took care of the basketball all afternoon, committing just six turnovers. The Leopards (6-9, 4-4 CCC), meanwhile, committed 15 TO's which led to 15 Nichols' points. The Bison have now won six-straight while Wentworth has dropped three in a row.

Freshman Jason Ganley (Northbridge, Mass.) came off the bench to score a team-high 11 for the Wentworth while senior John-Michael Fragnoli (Schenectady, N.Y.) tallied eight points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. The Leopards outrebounded Nichols 38-35.

After the score was tied at four, Langadas nailed his first triple to spark a 7-0 Nichols run. Ganley collected seven rebounds in the first frame to help keep the Leopards within striking distance of the Bison. Classmate Sam Knollmeyer (Hampton, N.H.) nailed a 3-pointer with 9:32 remaining to cut the Bison lead down to four, however Langadas responded with a three of his own to start an 11-3 run to lead 31-19 with 6:25 left in the first. Nichols closed the first half up 35-24 with Langadas scoring 18 points in the first half.

Neither side could put together a run of points together to help their respective teams in the first part of the second half. With 9:12 left, junior Kyle Romich (Groton, Mass.) hit a jump shot to cut the deficit to seven. Fragnoli and Ganley helped jumpstart the offense and brought the score to 50-45 with four minutes left. A three from Koumare 3-pointer was essentially the difference maker, as Wentworth did not hit a field goal in the remainder of the game. Nichols finished on an 11-2 run to take the 61-47 decision.

The Bison play at Eastern Nazarene Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. while the Leopards head to Endicott for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Tuesday.
