IWU Downs North Park for Fourth Straight Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team won for the fourth straight time, taking a 76-66 win over visiting North Park at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Jan. 17.
 
The Titans are 12-4 overall and 4-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while North Park is now 9-7 overall and 0-5 in conference play. 

In the first half, the Titans never trailed and led by as many as 10 points early before taking a 37-26 lead into the locker room. IWU shot 39 percent in the first half but forced 10 turnovers and outrebounded the Vikings, 23-17.
 
Late in the second half North Park got within six at 67-61 but baskets by sophomore Trevor Seibring staked IWU to a 10-point lead.  

Illinois Wesleyan outrebounded North Park 40-31 and the Titans were guilty of 18 turnovers to 14 for the Vikings. The Titans outscored North Park, 24-10, in the paint and had 13 second chance points compared to three for the Vikings.
 
IWU benefited from 26 made free throws on 35 attempts. The Vikings made only 11 free throws.
