Hot Shooting Lifts Baruch to Big Road Win at Lehman (81-62), Team 7-0 in CUNYAC

The Baruch College Bearcats shot 60 percent (28-for-47) from the field and controlled the boards with a 37-25 advantage to record an 81-62 victory over the Lightning of Lehman College on Wednesday night in the Bronx.

With the victory, the Bearcats stay undefeated in conference play at 7-0 and improve to 11-3 overall, while the Lightning fall to 4-3 in conference and 9-7 overall.

Defense was a factor again with the Bearcats limiting the Lightning to 31 percent (9-for-29) shooting in the second half.


Granville Gittensled the team with a near double-double of 21 points (10-14 fg), nine rebounds and three blocked shots.

Chimaechi Ekekeugborscored 16 points (5-7 fg, 4-5 ft), while Ryan Markoe(five assists) had 13 points and Edward Roscigno(six assists) finished with 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers this evening.

Bryler Paige, who was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week for the first time, chipped in with six points off the bench.

The Lightning finished shooting 36 percent (23-for-64) in the loss. Chaun Miller led their team with 17 points.

The Bearcats will return home to the ARC Arena on Friday, January 16, for a 7:30 pm conference contest against CCNY.
