Third ranked Warhawks lead Blue Devils from start to finish

UW-Whitewater never let up, as they beat the Blue Devils 96-67 Saturday. The Warhawks shot the ball very well, 55 percent overall, while the Blue Devils shot only 41.1 percent from the field. Cody Odegaard socred a game high 26 points for the third ranked Warhawks, while Jarvis Ragland (Sr, Milwaukee) posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Blue Devils.

Whitewater came out shooting in the first half, going on a 10-0 run to open up the game. Stout soon went on their own 8-0 run, and brought the game within two at around the 15 minute mark. Two points was the closest that the Blue Devils would get to the Warhawks for the rest of the game. The first half buzzer ended with Whitewater on top 48-32.

At the start of the second half, the Blue Devils brought the game to an 11 point margin on one of Ragland's eight offensive rebounds. From their the Warhawks went on an 8-0 run to once again open up the game. The two teams scored steadily in the second half, until Whitewater went on a late 13-4 run to finish the game with an eye opening score of 96-67.

Hank Kujak (Jr, Blair) finished with 17 points, while freshman John Lahti (Turtle Lake) finished with 12 points. Stout managed to out rebound the Warhawks 40-31 in the loss.

Whitewater had four players score in double figures, and finished the game shooting 51.7 percent from the 3-point line.

The Blue Devils will play two straight home games hosting UW-Oshkosh in their next game Wednesday Jan. 14 at 7 p.m., and then hosting UW-Superior Saturday Jan. 17 at 3 p.m.
