Newburgh, NY – Sam Annorh (Queens, NY) led all players with 24 points and four assists as the men's basketball team extended their win streak to six games with a 76-62 win against host Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday afternoon at the Kaplan Center.

The Roos improve to 7-2 having not dropped a game in the last month and a half, while the Knights drop to 2-8 on the season. The teams traded the lead early but a key 14-0 spurt gave SUNY Canton a 24-11 lead midway through the opening half. The run included seven points from Annorh and four from Romario Fletcher (Queens, NY) including a thunderous slam.

Mount Saint Mary would get no closer than seven points the remainder of the period as the Roos led 41-28 at intermission.

SUNY Canton extended their leads to as many as 17 leading 58-41 with 11:32 remaining and played well down the stretch never relinquishing their double digit lead.

Annorh scored 20 or more points for the sixth consecutive game, while Fletcher added 17 points including a 9-for-10 performance from the free throw line. Khalil Bratton (Queens, NY) and Tyler Ellison (New York, NY) chipped in nine points apiece. Twelve different Roos saw action in the contest as the SUNY Canton bench outscored the Knight reserves 23-19.

The men's basketball team returns to the Roos House on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. match-up against Morrisville State College, a team that made the NCAA Division III Elite Eight a season ago.
