New York, NY- The Men's Basketball team fell to the Hunter College Hawks 75-59 earlier tonight. The Hawks improve to 6-6 overall and 3-2 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 1-11 overall and 0-5 CUNYAC.

The Cougars opened the game with a bucket from Senior Forward Valin Williams. Hunter would go on a 11-0 run and put the game in favor of the Hawks. The Cougars would stay with the Hawks, with the lead not growing more than nine points. The Cougars cut the lead to three points twice, once in each half.

The Cougars shot 45.7% from the field, 38.5% from 3pt. FG-FGA, and 63.3% from the free throw line. 

Medgar Evers College was led by Freshman Guard Reynaldo Eloy with a game high 21pts (7-15 FG-FGA, 3-6 3pt. FG-FGA, and 4-4 FT-FTA). Reynaldo grabbed a rebound, dished out a team high three assists, and added a team high three steals. Senior Forward Valin Williams scored 18pts (8-12 FG-FGA and 2-3 FT-FTA). Valin grabbed nine rebounds, dished out an assist, and swiped away two shots. Hunter was led by Brian Kruger with 14pts. Three other student-athletes scored in double figures including the following: Lester Anim (12pts), Jerrell Antley (12pts), and Gerard Canty (11pts).  

The Cougars will be back in action on Friday January. 9, 2015, when they play the City College of New York Beavers at Medgar Evers College. Game time will be 8:00pm.
