DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior captain Matt Langadas (Sebago, Maine) led five Nichols College student-athletes in double-figures with 22 points in a 93-74 win over Curry College Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Langadas knocked down six triples as the Bison (7-4, 4-0 CCC) tied the program-record of 18 in one game, set last season against the Colonels (2-9, 0-4 CCC). In the process, Langadas climbed to within 12 points of reaching the 1,000-point mark for his career.

Junior Gustave Koumare (Harlem, N.Y.) dished out a career-high 12 assists and rattled home five 3-pointers to finish with 15 points while senior Joe Gallant (Salem, N.H.) snared a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with 10 points and three assists. Juniors Irving Eggleston (East Lyme, Conn.) and Christian Horton (Rutland, Mass.) finished with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Senior Antonio Jones (Dorchester, Mass.) poured in a team-high 22 points playing all 40 minutes for the Colonels. Senior Matt Russell (South Portland, Maine) filled the stat sheet with 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while junior Danny Brooks (Boston, Mass.) registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.

Nichols led by eight (24-16) midway through the first half behind six points each from Gallant, Horton, and Koumare. An 8-0 run by the Bison later in the frame – which was highlighted by back-to-back triples from sophomore Jared Thompson (Scituate, R.I.) and Koumare – allowed them to open up a 14-point advantage (44-30) before settling into an eight-point halftime lead.

The Colonels shot 50 percent and made more field goals than Nichols through the first 20 minutes (15 to 14), however nine of the 14 Bison field goals were three-pointers. Russell led all scorers with 14 while Gallant's 10 paced Nichols.

The first five Nichols field goals of the second half were all from behind the arc as Langadas and Horton each drilled a pair to put the Bison ahead by 59-43 just four minutes into the second half. Langadas' sixth and final three of the evening with 9:42 remaining in the half gave the Bison their largest lead of the evening at 76-55. Their lead never fell below 13 points the rest of the way.

Nichols shot 46 percent from the floor (31-of-67) and attempted a school-record 43 three-pointers, making 42 percent of them. Curry, meanwhile, knocked down 52 percent of its field goals but did not make any three's. The Bison took care of the ball, tying a season-low with only eight turnovers, while turning 18 Curry TO's into 27 points.

The Bison head to Springfield to face Western New England Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Curry hosts Gordon Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
