The Saint Vincent men's basketball team defeated Westminster College by a score of 69-37 in New Wilmington in a Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup.

Austin Dedert scored the game's first bucket just over a minute into play, and after the Titans took a 3-2 lead, SVC got back-to-back three pointers from Pat Jones and Jaylon Bell.

With just under 14 minutes remaining, up 8-5, SVC went to work in the paint, with a score from Sean Kett and a putback by Austin Ford, giving the visiting Bearcats a 12-5 advantage.

Both teams then went into a scoring drought, but five straight points from Jones brought the Bearcats back to life.  A coast-to-coast drive with 8:15 to go was followed by a three pointed that made it 17-8 in favor of the Bearcats with 7:40 on the clock.

Up 19-15, the Bearcats then outscored Westminster 10-2 in the final five minutes of the half, as Kett started the rally with a baseline jumper, and Bobby Swartwout ended the half with a layup that made it 29-17.

The Titans cut the margin to just seven early in the second half (33-27), but the Bearcats quickly regrouped, scoring the game's next 8 points, five from Kett and a three by Howard.

With the score 41-31, Kett started another Bearcat run with a basket at the 13:35 mark, the first of 15 straight points for Saint Vincent.  The streak was capped by a Swartwout layup more than five minutes later.  Dan Sinwell hit a pair of three pointers during the run.

From there, the outcome was never in doubt, as the Bearcats earned the 32-point victory.

Kett led the offense with 15 points, while Austin Ford was the top rebounder with 7.  Sinwell scored 9 points, going 3-for-3 from outside the arc.  Jones and Kory Schulz added 8 points each.

Saint Vincent is now 8-4 overall on the season, 3-0 in the PAC.  The team returns home to face Waynesburg at 7:30PM on Wednesday, January 7 in the Carey Center.
