LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Tyler Huffman (West Hartford, Conn.) scored a career-high 19 points and Clark University took control of the game with a 13-0 run late in the second half en route to a 71-64 victory over Colorado College in the final game of the first day of the D3hoops.com Classic at the South Point Arena on Sunday evening.

Huffman scored 11 of his points in the second half, helping the Cougars score 47 points while shooting 56 percent from the field (14-for-25) in the final 20 minutes.

The Scarlet and White improves to 5-5 overall on the season, while the Tigers slip to 4-6.

Down 54-46 with less than eight minutes to play, Huffman sparked the game-altering run with a three-pointer. David Mercier (Milford, Mass.) added a free throw and when Andrew Musler (Belmont, Mass.) and Joseph Atkinson (Milford, Mass.) each converted easy layups, the score was tied.

Clark wasn't done as Musler scored five straight, including a conventional three-point play that capped the 13-0 burst that saw the Cougars hold the Tigers without a basket for nearly six minutes.

In addition to Huffman's big night (5-for-9 from three-point land), the Scarlet and White got 19 points from Nicholas DaPrato (Marshfield, Mass.), 17 of which came in the second half.

Joining DaPrato and Huffman in double figures for Clark was Musler, who finished with 12 points and seven boards and Mercier who totaled ten points and five rebounds.

Lucas LaLima (Colts Neck, N.J.), meanwhile, tallied a season-best eight assists and committed just one turnover in 28 minutes of action for the Cougars.

Luke Winfield led Colorado College with 18 points – 14 of which came in the second half, while Chris Lesnansky added 14 of his own.

Clark will return to action on Tuesday with a 9:00 p.m. EST tip against Hanover College.
