BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Middlebury College cruised to a 99-45 victory over Medgar Evers College in the opening round of the BSU Bears Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Tinsley Center. Middlebury (3-0) will take on Clark University in the tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon at two, while Medgar Evers (1-2) will face host Bridgewater State in the consolation game at noon.
 
Senior forward Dylan Sinnickson (Sands Point, N.Y.) led the victorious Panthers with 20 points and 14 rebounds as he recorded his double-double of the season. Sinnickson was 3-for-5 from three-point range and five of his game-high 14 boards came off the offensive glass. Classmate Hunter Merryman (San Marino, Calif.) added 21 points on 6 of 12 shooting including 5-for-9 from behind the arc.
 
Middlebury scored the first 11 points of the contest and never looked back. The Panthers led 59-22 at the intermission and their largest lead of the game was the final 54-point differential.
 
The Panthers connected on 11 of 23 (48%) three-point attempts, including a sizzling 61% (11-18) in the first half.  Middlebury also forced 25 turnovers and held the Cougars to 27% (17-64) shooting from the floor and 0-for-9 from behind the arc.
 
Freshman Forward Damani Guscott (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Cougars with 15pts and carouled 10 rebounds. This is his first double-double of his college career. Junior guard Matthew Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored 11 points with seven of those coming from the free throw line. Classmate Mark Hudson (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) added ten points on 5 of 9 shooting, while senior center Valin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.
