GARY, IND. – Manchester University junior forward Brady Dolezal (Tipton, Ind.) resumed his impressive string, tallying a double-figure scoring game for the 21st time in his last 22 appearances, during a non-conference meeting with Indiana University – Northwest Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Dolezal's 14 points led two Black and Gold players with 10 points-or-more. Freshman guard Brody Kirby (Frankfort, Ind.) added 10 points for his first collegiate double-figure scoring contest. Dolezal also shared the steals' lead for MU (2-7) with two, while Kirby drained a pair of three-pointers in the 68-50 loss at the hands of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Redhawks. Senior guard Caleb Jackson (New Castle, Ind.) turned in a seven-rebound, three-assist and two-steal evening inside the Savannah Center despite not tallying a point.

IUN (6-7) jumped out to a 10-2 lead less than seven minutes in. MU rallied to as close as one (17-16) midway through the first half before the home side reeled off 13 of the final 17 points of the half for a 10-point cushion (30-20). The Redhawks received an early second half charge from the Black and Gold, as Manchester University got as close as three (41-38) with 10:58. From that point, IUN answered with 11 successive points and didn't look back.

The Spartans break from competition for the Christmas holiday, returning to action with a trip to Finlandia University of Michigan Monday, Dec. 29.

NOTES: It was a night of firsts for a trio of Spartans' players. Freshman guard Tanner Forsythe (Frankfort, Ind.), junior forward Brock Armstrong (Logansport, Ind.) and senior forward Glendon Yoder (Lagrange, Ind.) each tallied their first points in a Black and Gold uniform during the game … Junior forward Keith Berry (Chicago, Ill.) playing near his hometown turned in a personal single-game high in regards to floor time with a 17-minute outing in which he scored two points and grabbed four rebounds.
