Virginia Wesleyan, which recorded its second road win of the weekend, established control of the game with an 18-8 scoring run that started with a triple from sophomore Tim Jones (Richmond/Henrico). He hit two treys in the breakaway, which included three triples from Moore, as the Marlins turned a 21-15 lead into a 39-23 advantage with 4:16 remaining before halftime.

VWC led 47-29 at halftime and maintained the spread through the early minutes of the second half.  The Marlins pushed out to a 26-point lead, their largest of the game, near the midway point of the second half by outscoring the Panthers 11-5 to create a 72-48 score with 7:24 remaining to be played in the game.  Senior Breven Lyons (Newport News/Warwick) led the run with five points.

Ferrum chipped away at the spread to get the deficit under 20 points late in the game, but never got closer than 16 points.
