Rams Drop Conference Game at Sage

Albany, N.Y. - In a Skyline Conference men's basketball game at The Sage Colleges, the Rams were defeated 85-59 this afternoon. Farmingdale State is now 1-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Gators improved to 6-1, 2-0.

Farmingdale State jumped out to a 14-9 lead, before a 15-3 Sage run put the Gators ahead 24-17 with 6:15 remaining in the first half.

Leading 27-22 with 3:11 left on the clock, a 10-2 Gators run to close the half highlighted by a pair of Brett Ullman (Sharon Springs, N.Y.) 3-pointers gave Sage a 37-24 advantage at the break.

After Farmingdale State cut the deficit to 51-38, the Gators responded with 11-2 run to open up their largest lead of the game at 62-40. Sage would lead by as many as 29 points on their way to the 85-59 conference victory.

Junior guard Ruben Terrero (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored a team-high 13 points and added seven steals, while junior forward Marques Underwood (Bronx, N.Y.) had 12 points and seven boards for Farmingdale State.

Sage was led by Kai Deans (Miami, Fla.) who recorded a game-high 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

The Rams next will travel to Medgar Evers for a non-conference game on Thursday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m.
