ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Christian Roberts scored 10 straight points in a game-turning 14-0 run late in the second half as Stevenson University rallied to defeat the University of Rochester, 83-75, in the consolation game of the UR/Holiday Inn Airport Thanksgiving Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

Kevin Sheehy sank two free throws for Rochester to give the Yellowjackets a 65-60 lead with 6:33 to play. Roberts sank a three-pointer and made a layup to tie it. He hit a three-pointer from left wing just before the shot clock buzzer to put the Mustangs ahead, 68-65. His steal and layup made it 70-65. Sean Farr added two baskets, stretching the lead to 74-65, with 3:05 to go.

Roberts scored 21 points for Stevenson (5-2). He added four assists, one block, and one steal. Erik Fisher led SU with 30 poitns, hitting 13 of 19 from the floor. Colby Giacubeno scored 12 points for Stevenson.

Sam Borst-Smith led Rochester (3-2) with 18 points, two assists, and three steals. Tyler Seidman scored 14 points. Mack Montague sored 10, and Jacob Mikalov scored 10.

Stevenson and Borst-Smith were named to the All-Tournament team along with Trachone Preston of Eastern Connecticut State, Du'Quan Lawson and Omar St. John of York (N.Y.). The MVP was Tarchee Brown of Eastern Connecticut State. ECSU defeated York, 70-60, to win the tournament championship.

The Mustangs went ahead with an early 14-4 run to take a 16-12 lead midway through the first half. The lead peaked at 11, 29-18, when Darius Walker hit a trey from the top of the key. Rochester drew within 35-32 at halftime.

A layup by Chris Day kept Stevenson in front, 48-53. Rochester used a 16-4 burst over four minutes to move in front, 59-52, with less than nine minutes left. Borst-Smith (five) and Jakob Mikalov (four) combined for nine of the 16 points. Fisher sank four baskets in less than a minute, keeping Stevenson within striking range at 63-60. Sheehy's two free throws followed, and after that, Roberts led the winning charge.
