ROME, Ga. – Freshman Nick Marder had 17 points and five Vikings scored in double figures as Berry College defeated Emory & Henry, 82-62, on Tuesday night.

After winning its home opener, BC improved to 2-3. The visiting Wasps dropped to 0-5. The 20-point victory margin was the largest for Berry in the D3 era (2009-present).

Marder made 11-12 free throws. Berry was 39-47 from the charity stripe (83-percent) in the contest. E&H shot 18-30 (60-percent).

Freshman Coleman Ellingsworth and Lee McCloud both recorded 16 points for Berry. Lukas Korn and Caleb Johnson, also freshmen, netted 12 points apiece for the home team.

The Vikings led 40-34 at halftime. BC led in rebounding, 35-30.

BC's biggest lead came on its final basket of the game: a jumper from McCarty Fortes with 46 seconds remaining.

Ryan Gravely scored 14 points for Emory & Henry.

The Vikings host Rust College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
