ROADRUNNERS COME BACK TO DEFEAT CSI, 82-78

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team came back to defeat non-conference rival the College of Staten Island, 82-78. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 2-0 overall while the Dolphins drop to 1-2 overall.
 
Three Roadrunners scored in double figures in the win. Christopher Moseley led the team with 28 points, shooting 12-19 from the field. Frank Nock recorded a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds, including two steals and two assists. George Sapp led the team with four assists while he scored 14 points. Ve'Shawn Polite grabbed seven rebounds and tallied eight points while recording two blocks. Nick Stanek added seven points and five rebounds.
 
Moseley scored first for the Roadrunners as he made a jumper and was fouled at the start of the game. He converted on his foul shot, putting the Roadrunners in the lead, 3-0. Ramapo then built a nine point lead, 14-5, with 16:00 on the clock on a made basket by Nock. Ramapo led by ten, 23-13 with 10:20 on the clock before CSI went on a 12-0 run, capped off by a made foul shot by Frank Schettino, to tie the game at 23-23 with 8:34 left in the half. The game was tied for the third time, 27-27 (6:05) before CSI went on an, 8-2 run capped off by two made foul shots from Will Fonseca, taking an eight point lead, 37-29, with 2:27 on the clock. The Dolphins held their biggest lead of the half, 41-31, with 1:16 to go, before Ramapo scored the final four points in the half as CSI took a 41-35 lead into halftime.
 
The Roadrunners shot 37% (13-35) from the field in the first half and 53% (8-15) from the foul line.  The Dolphins shot 42% (17-40) from the field in the first half and 38% (5-13) from the foul line.
 
In the second half, Ramapo cut the Dolphin lead to one, 42-43 on a made three-pointer from Nock at 17:58, before CSI extended their lead back to six with 13:56 on the clock, 53-47 on a dunk from Fonseca. Ramapo went on a 10-2 run, capped off by a jumper in the paint from Nock with 10:06 on the clock to take back the lead, 57-55. Following a timeout, CSI came back with a three-pointer from Edin Bracic before Stanek hit a jumper and Nock drained a three-pointer, taking a four point lead, 62-58 with 9:02 on the clock. The game was tied three more times before Ramapo took a, 78-76, lead with 1:35 left in the game. With just under one minute on the clock, CSI nailed a jumper from Kevon Murphy to tie the game for the ninth time, 78-78. Sapp would then put the Roadrunners in the lead for good with a made basket with 43 seconds left in the game, 80-78, before Polite scored the final basket to take an, 82-78, lead with eight ticks left on the clock. CSI got a three-point shot off in the final seconds of the game but it was off the mark as the Roadrunners came away with their second victory of the season.
 
Ramapo shot 43% (31-71) from the field, 30% (3-10) from beyond the three-point mark and 63% (17-27) from the foul line in the game. The Roadrunners also pulled down 47 rebounds in the game.
 
For the Dolphins, Fonseca led the team with 27 points and 13 rebounds while Schettino added 22 points and a team high seven assists. Murphy also posted a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. CSI pulled down 46 rebounds in the game while they shot 45% (33-73) from the field, 31% (5-16) from beyond the three-point line and 38% (7-18) from the foul line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, November 22nd when they host NJAC rival Rowan University at 3pm.
