NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Junior forward Jarod Schrock (Logansport, Ind.) picked a good night to register his first career double-double Saturday, Nov. 22.

Schrock tossed in a personal single-game high 19 points, due to eight-of-10 field goal shooting, to go with a personal single-game high 11 rebounds to top four Spartans in scoring double digits during Manchester University's 84-70 win over Wright St. - Lake. Junior guard Brady Dolezal tallied 14 points for his 14th double-figure total in 15 contests, while junior forward Matt Brown (Hobart, Ind.) canned three treys as part of a 12-point evening, and freshman forward Derek Way (Fairland, Ind.) ended with 10 points off the bench.

MU, improving to 1-1, jumped out quickly on the visiting Lakers of Wright St. – Lake. The Black and Gold scored 11 of the first 16 points and held as large as a 13-point advantage in the opening frame. WS-L (2-2) rallied back to trim the deficit to four at the break (40-36) and moved as close as one (58-57) with 6:50 left. A Schrock lay-up, at that point, ignited a game-deciding 25-10 roll much to the delight of the home crowd at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.

Looking further into the Spartans' statistics, senior guard Caleb Jackson (New Castle, Ind.) contributed five assists, a game high, and a blocked shot, and Way picked up three steals, also a team high. MU shot a strong 50.8 percent from the field which included eight three-pointers, while WS-L was limited to just over 40 percent from the field and connected on only six-of-24 three-point attempts.

Manchester University continues its non-conference schedule Tuesday, Nov. 25, traveling to Calvin College of Michigan. Tipoff is 8 p.m.
