CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Berry College lost to Albion College, 72-63, to close out play at the Mount Saint Joseph Tipoff Tournament on Sunday. The Vikings dropped to 0-2 and the Brits moved to 1-1.
Lee McCloud tallied a game-best 17 points to lead BC. He was 5-10 shooting and made five three-pointers.
BC trailed by as many as 13 points in the contest. Nick Marder made two free throws with 2:52 left to cut the deficit to 66-61, but Berry got no closer.
Freshman Coleman Ellingsworth contributed 15 points and led Berry with seven rebounds. Owen Jacobs added 13 points and Marder dished five assists. Jacobs earned all-tournament team honors.
Albion led 31-26 at halftime and won the battle of the boards, 46-28. Berry shot 15-17 (88-percent) from the free throw line to the Brits' 16-29 (55-percent). The Vikings forced 20 and committed 14 turnovers in the game.
Dakota Kazen paced Albion with 12 points.
The Vikings play at LaGrange College on Wednesday night.
