NEW YORK, N.Y. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (1-1) dropped a 68-59 decision at Lehman (2-1) Nov. 19.

The Pioneers led by as many as eight (19-11, 9:42) during the first half, and carried a 28-25 lead into the break. Consecutive baskets by junior guard Bright Mensah (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) and senior guard Jaques Conceicao (Massama-Lisboa, Portugal/Francais Charle Lepierre) stretched that margin to seven to open the second period (32-25, 18:35), but a 10-2 run by the Lightning later knotted the game at 37-37 with 14:13 on the clock.

Five lead changes and two ties marked the next five minutes, but a 12-3 burst during a five-minute span allowed Lehman to build a 61-51 edge with 2:36 left.

Senior guard Sandy Burgos (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) led all scorers with 24 points, and junior forward Terik Bridgeman (Harlem, N.Y./Nia Prep) registered a double-double with 13 tallies and a game-best 11 rebounds. Mensah finished with 11 points and seven boards.

Senior guard/forward Jonathan Greenfield paced Lehman with 22 points, and junior forward/center Jerrome Jones had 17 tallies and six rebounds.
