Calvin tops Albion in MIAA Tournament preview

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin defeated Albion, 83-57, in a preview of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball tournament semifinal game.

The teams will meet again Wednesday, but the stakes will be much higher.

Brad Visser made a pair of 3-point shots and Jordan Brink tacked on a third as Calvin scored 13 unanswered points to extend the margin to 17-4 seven minutes into the contest. The Knights went on to lead by 26, 47-21, at halftime.

The second half was more evenly played with each team producing 36 points.

Four Britons scored in double figures with Jordan Herron, Dakotz Kazen, and Travell Oakes finishing with 11 points apiece. Evans Evans chipped in with 10 points off the bench.

Calvin shot 51 percent from the field for the game. Tyler Dykstra and Tyler Kruis finished with 15 points apiece. Brink added 13 and Visser tacked on 10 off the bench.
