Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball team held the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice to just 25.0% (15-for-60) shooting from the field on Tuesday night in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) action, as the Bulldogs cruised to an 87-52 victory at the West Quad Center.

With the win, BC finishes the regular season with a 12-13 overall record and an even 8-8 mark in CUNYAC play to lock up the fourth seed and home court advantage for the quarterfinals round of the conference championships. John Jay concludes its regular season with a 9-16 overall record, 7-9 in conference play.

The win also evens the season series between the two schools, as John Jay defeated Brooklyn, 90-78, back on January 10th at the Doghouse on John Jay's campus.

Sophomore Egzon Gjonbalaj recorded a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds, both game-highs. Classmate Jamel Gist added 17 points and four assists, while junior Jai Kellman chipped in with 13 points. Junior Valon Djombalic grabbed 10 rebounds coming off the bench.

John Jay's Kris Owens led the Bloodhounds with 19 points and seven rebounds.

The Bulldogs shot 42.9% (27-for-63) from the field, including 24.0% (6-for-25) from three. BC also shot 77.1% (27-for-35) from the free throw line. Brooklyn also won the battle of the glass, outrebounding John Jay 52-39, which led to 18 second chance points.

Trailing by three, 12-9, with 14:16 remaining in the first half, the Bulldogs would seize full control of the game using an 18-0 run to go up 15, 27-12 with 7:00 minutes left before the halftime horn.

Brooklyn would never look back, as the Bulldogs led by double figures throughout the rest of the night en route to its 35-point win, 87-52.

With the regular season now complete, Brooklyn will now eye a run at the conference crown, as the Bulldogs will host #5 seeded Hunter College in the quarterfinals round of the CUNYAC/Con Edison Championships, which is set to begin Saturday, February 22nd. Tip-off time will be announced at a later time.

The Bulldogs swept the Hawks during the regular season, defeating Hunter, 79-65, back on January 15th at the West Quad Center and 76-71 on February 7th at the Hunter Sportsplex.
